Sonos brought five of the infringements to court, citing a lack of resources for a prolonged battle over all of the infringements, and requested an injunction that would effectively ban the sale of Google-made devices, including Pixel phones, speakers, tablets, and laptops. In January, Sonos filed a lawsuit claiming the theft of intellectual property while suggesting over 100 patents were infringed upon as the two companies collaborated on developing Google Assistant for Sonos speakers. Google hasn’t expanded on this comment, which makes sense for a legal matter, but it may be related to the company's ongoing disputes with Sonos. ![]()
